There is a Buddhist quote "Art is frozen Zen". For me this rings true of how I view my art. It calls to creative spirit and reminds me that what I am witnessing is a frozen moment in time and space. A brief instant in history, that is capture, preserved and shared with others. Through years of experience, I have tried to develop ways of seeing those moments, no matter what the subject or medium I use. My artistic endeavors allow me to connect with the energy and essence of my being. I feel that most artists are conduits for a higher ceative energy. The art process is a vehicle to connect with that energy. Art pushes me to understand my life through the documentation of what exists around me. It allows me to explore who I am, where I'm going and how I fit into the universal plan. Whether you are the viewer of images or the artist who creates them, art should guide and allow us to know something about ourselves. Art should be discovery and experience.
